This song managed to get a 3x Platinum from RIAA. The song was also ranked 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 7 weeks and 9 weeks on the Billboard Pop 100. Perry was again very well known, apart from his first song, the song Hot N Cold is the second song (which is actually the third song released) from the album became very nge-hits all over the world, and successfully compete with his first song (In the United States even this song downloaded more than I Kissed a Girl).
